Shy Pahlevani

Shy Pahlevani is Ernst & Young's 2020 Entrepreneur of the Year and a serial founder. He started LiveSafe, a mobile safety communications platform acquired by Vector Solutions in 2020, and HUNGRY, a catering marketplace connecting top local chefs with businesses.

Across his ventures he has raised more than $25 million from renowned backers — among them Steve Case, Barry Diller, Fred Smith (FedEx), JAY-Z's Marcy Venture Partners, and a roster of NFL and NBA athletes. He also holds two patents in mobile safety.

He serves on the boards of organizations including Oasis Hill, the Inova Health Foundation, and JMU's Center for Entrepreneurship, and has been named a Washington Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree.
